About Us:
Berkeley Animal Hospital is a modern, privately owned small animal clinic that opened in June 2023. As a growing practice, we are building a strong, supportive team focused on high-quality medicine and compassionate care. Our 3,000 sq. ft. facility includes five exam rooms, a spacious treatment area, a dedicated dental and surgery suite, and Fear Free–focused patient accommodations.
We also collaborate with mobile specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, and surgery, and offer integrative services such as acupuncture.
About the Role:
We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant who is passionate about animal care and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to grow your clinical skills while working alongside a supportive and forward-thinking team.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide compassionate, attentive care to patients and excellent service to clients.
- Assist veterinarians (DVMs) and RVTs with exams, procedures, dentistry, and surgery.
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment.
- Perform routine diagnostics (lab work, radiology, etc.)
- Accurately prepare and handle medications as directed.
- Monitor and record patient vitals, including under anesthesia.
- Support visiting specialists during advanced procedures (cardiology, endoscopy, surgery).
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable using digital tools (Windows, Gmail, Google Drive; experience with IDEXX Neo is a plus, but we will train).
- Ability to stay adaptable in a growing and evolving practice.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience (required).
- Dental and anesthesia monitoring experience preferred.
